The Xact Ambient Metals Monitor (Xact 620) measures the concentration of metals in ambient air. Like the other instruments in the Xact series, Xact 620 technology is based on uses X-ray fluorescence (XRF). Sampling times for this instrument range from one to four hours. The Xact 620 measures metals in the pg/m³ concentration range.
Features of the 620 like the
Xact 640 include: automatic daily upscale, blank and flow checks; MS Excel- and DAS-compatible data reports; automatic alarming, QA, and control features; and non-destructive analysis allowing for sample archiving and re-analysis.
The 620 is currently in the testing phase, but is expected to be available in late 2007.
The Xact 620 is a unique multi-metals monitor capable of simultaneously reporting near-real time results for up to 25 metals at ambient concentrations.
